Our department of
nephrology is a professionally managed unit, equipped with a
team of skilled and dedicated doctors and paramedical staff.
Common diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and chronic
glomerulo-nephritis can lead to permanent loss of renal
functions - with dialysis and renal transplantation being the
outcome. The emergence of new therapeutic interventions has
enabled to diagnose renal disease early and prevent its
progression.
Our Nephrology department is equipped with the latest computerized dialysis machines, reverse osmosis water plant to provide pure and trace element free water supply. Hepatitis patients are provided dialysis in a separate room. The majority of patients are given bicarbonate dialysis.
We offer Hemodialysis, Chronic Ambulatory Peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and transplantation. In addition to the basic haemo-dialysis facilities, the patients' requirement for other modalities of treatment such as continuous cycler assisted peritoneal dialysis (CCPD), continuous arterio venous haemofiltration (CAVH), continuous veno venous haemofiltration (CVVH), continuous arteriovenous haemofiltration with dialysis (CAVHD) and plasma pheresis are also met.
Our Nephrology team also provides round the clock service for the critically ill in the intensive care units.
Department of Renal Transplant
Our department of multi organ transplantation offers the services of kidney transplantation, liver transplantation to patients with end stage renal diseases.
Features
State of the art operating room facilities
Transplant Intensive Care Unit
Step down high dependency units
One to one nursing care
The thrust of our program is offering Cadaver kidney transplantation for adults and children. This will increase the chance of each recipient to receive the best-matched organ. The multidisciplinary team approach in post-operative management based on sound immunological principles, innovative, monitored immuno-suppressive protocols and active long term protocols by both surgical and medical teams ensures provision of quality care of the patient as a whole after kidney transplantation.
